The Central and Western Pennsylvania HIMSS Chapters, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association, held a Student and Workforce Health I.T. Development event at the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology on November 7, 2014. The learning objectives of the event supported an overall goal to raise awareness in Pennsylvania about Health IT workforce issues. The event was also about starting a conversation between key stakeholders (Healthcare industry, Academic and Government/Others) around developing and maintaining a qualified workforce to meet the increasing demands for Health I.T. related initiatives.
