Join us for this annual event for those interested in learning more about Health Information Technology (HIT) as a career and gives participants an opportunity to listen and engage with professionals regarding how technology can help address current and emerging issues, such the opioid epidemic and reducing veteran suicide.   

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and discuss the impacts and possible solutions for the Pennsylvania health IT workforce.
  • Understanding the impact of technology on emerging opportunities (e.g. technology aiding in addressing opioid epidemic, reducing veteran suicide)
  • Identifying and exploring partnerships across government, business, academic institutions and technical schools that drive demand and supply in the HIT workforce. 

Who is attending?
High school, technical school and college students; military members transitioning to civilian life; healthcare or technology professionals looking to transition into healthcare technology; employers seeking to hire Health Information Technology (HIT) professionals and others will attend.

Keynote Presenters

  • Patrick Hayakawa, vice president, Innovation & Emerging Technologies, Chester County Economic Development Council, together with Mark Stevens, managing partner, Enable Health, and will cover topics ranging from Workforce Development Examples and Career Transition in/out of Health Care to Youth Attitudes and Preferences in High School and Engagement in STEM, Apprenticeships in Healthcare and Diversified Workforce.  
  • Meghna Patel, MHA, director, Pennsylvania Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will provide the Lunch Keynote: Technology and the Opioid Epidemic.
